Obituary
Jerry Paul Anderson, 57, of rural Kewanee, Il. died at 6:18 P.M., Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at his home. He was born January 13, 1949 in Mishawaka, Indiana the son of Elmer Richard and Virginia Thelma (LaFree) Anderson. He graduated from Kewanee High School in 1967. He served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army 1st Air Cavalry in Vietnam and received two purple hearts.
He married Sharon Stringer Christiansen June 3, 2006 at their home. She survives along with one daughter Jill (Danny) Powers, one son Jason (Kimberly) Anderson all of Kewanee, four grandchildren Jacob, Kylie, Ashton and Preston, two step daughters Marcy (Mrs. Jeff) Heepke of Edwardsville, Il. and Kimberly Christiansen of San Francisco, Ca., one step granddaughter Grace. Also surviving is his mother Virginia Anderson of Sheffield, Il., one brother Dennis Anderson of Dent, Mn., three sisters Myra (Mrs. Dave) Turner of Kewanee, Il., Sonya (Mrs. Tim) Anderson-Deel of Austin, Tx. and Yvonne (Mrs. Gene) Morman of Princeton, Il.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Jerry was a General Contractor and owned A & S Construction Co. He was a member of the Kewanee VFW Post 8078. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the doghouse.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, August 3, 2006 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. The Kewanee Veterans Council will accord Military honors at the funeral home following the services on Thursday. Private inurnment will be at a later date. There will be no visitation.
A memorial fund has been established and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
