Debbie L. Solomon 49 of Kewanee died 9:50 pm Friday August 11, 2006 at her home. She was born November 26, 1956 in Kewanee daughter of Richard and Phyllis (Trimmer) Helslander. She was reared and educated in Kewanee, graduating for Kewanee High School. She married Eddie Solomon July 25, 1981 in Kewanee, he survives as well as three sons Scott Solomon of Quincy Il, Tony (Michelle) Solomon, and Matthew Solomon both of Kewanee. One daughter survives Mrs. Erik (Tina) Carder of Abingdon Il. Seven grandchildren Erik Carder Jr., Thomas Carder, Sara Carder, Branden Keel, Brackel Keel, Dalton Solomon, Maykinzie Solomon. Also survived by one brother Richard Helslander Jr. of Davenport Iowa, one sister Mrs. Laurence (Laurel) Sauer of Kewanee.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents.
She had worked for the Kewanee School Dist. # 229 at Belle Alexander school. She then had worked with her husband at the Kewanee Car Corral.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Kewanee. She enjoyed bowling, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing Mrs. Santa Claus, at different events around the area with her husband, being Santa Claus.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday August 16th at the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. David Wineinger officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday August 15th at Schueneman & Tumbleson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery Kewanee. A memorial has been established to be left at the funeral home.
