Robert D. Riggen, 77, of North Huntingdon, Pa. and formerly of Kewanee, Il. died Tuesday June 5, 2007. He was born August 3, 1929 in Kewanee the son of Tom and Emma (DeBusery) Riggen. He was reared and educated in Kewanee.
Robert served in the Navy from 1947 to 1978, retiring as Master Petty Chief Officer. He later was plant foreman for Coca Cola in Chicago prior to retirement.
Surviving are two sons Robert Alan Riggen of Rancho Santa Margarita, Ca. and Paul E. (Valerie) Riggen of North Huntingdon, Pa. with whom he resided. Two granddaughters Nicole and Jaclyn Riggen, three brothers Harry (Lotte) Riggen of Springfield, Mo., James Riggen of Reno, Nv. and Raymond Riggen of Canton, Il., three sisters Mary Medley and Patricia Nyert both of Kewanee, Il. and Nancy Engels of Rio, Il.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Frank and Thomas Riggen and three sisters Pearl Brain, Gladys Miller and Hazel Riggen.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 8, 2007 in North Huntingdon. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Wethersfield Cemetery in Kewanee. Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. There will be no visitation. Military Honors will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. The Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. is in charge of arrangements.
