Obituary

Truilly Amolly Duff, 90, of Kewanee, Il. died at 9:27 A.M. Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Courtyard Estates in Kewanee. She was born February 24, 1917 in Atkinson, Il. the daughter of Hugh and Flora (Rahn) VanDewoestine. She graduated from Kewanee High School. She married Lawrence Carter Duff February 24, 1938 in Perry Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1986. She was also preceded in death by a half brother Robert VanDewoestine and grandson David Carl Duff on May 10, 2003.

Surviving are two sons Richard Lewis (Dorothy) Duff of Henderson, Il., Raymond Lee (Delores) Duff of Kewanee, Il. a daughter Delores Ann (Fred) Grubaugh of Groveland, Fl., four grandchildren Julie Ann Duff of Murfreesboro, Tn, Kimberly Sue Grubaugh of Groveland, Fl., Sarah Lynn (Nate) Iles of Henderson, Il., Bradley Carter Duff of Galesburg, Il. and three great grandchildren Laura Michelle Duff of Portland, Or., Taylor Brandon Sanders of Murfreesboro, Tn. and Sylvia Lynn Eaves of Henderson, Il. Also surviving is a brother Vernon A. (Margaret) VanDewoestine of Medford, Or., and three half sisters Phyllis Zable of Selah, Wa., Karen (Everett) Thrasher of Boone, Ia. and Lorraine Miles of Boone, Ia.

Truilly had been employed at the former Kewanee Works Walworth Co. and McClelland’s in Kewanee. She had also worked as a hair dresser and at General Electric. She was well known throughout the area for her many beautiful award winning quilts. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and the Prairie Queen Quilters Guild of Bishop Hill and served as a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Drive.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate.

Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee, Il. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday, July 13th at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross or Kewanee Hospital Hospice.
