Obituary
Donley “Don” M. Greenhagen, 88, of Kewanee, IL died 7:50 A.M. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Kewanee Hospital. He was born January 7, 1921 in rural Kewanee son of Les and Elizabeth( Pinkle) Greenhagen. Don was schooled at the rural school north of Kewanee, then Kewanee High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW II. He married Lois Currier in 1963 in Cairo, IL, she preceded him in death, as well two brothers Marvin, and Arla, and one daughter Nancy Currier in infancy.
Don is survived by 7 sons Marty (Edna) Greenhagen of Kewanee, David (Jonelle) Greenhagen of Hillrose, Co., Jody (Laura) Greenhagen of Kewanee. Also Steve (Ruthann) Mallery of Salt Lake City, Uh, Jim (Lisa) Mallery of Galva, Jim Griggs of Florida, and Rich (Deb) Mallery of Kewanee. Don is also survived by 27 grandchildren and many great, and great great grandchildren. One brother survives Alan Greenhagen of Kewanee.
Don had worked for Mutual Electric Co. in Kewanee, then was in sales in Chicago, and lastly had owned Greenhagen`s Bicycle Repair and Custard business in Kewanee.
He was a member of the VFW Post 8078, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and grandchildren as well as fishing.
There will be no visitation, graveside services will be accorded at the Pleasant View Cemetery, with Military Rites by the Kewanee Veterans Council at a later date. The Schueneman & Tumbleson funeral home Kewanee, is in charge of arrangements.
