Jack L. Nimrick, 70, of Kewanee, Il. died at 11:33 A.M. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in the emergency at Kewanee Hospital. Jack was born November 9, 1941 in Geneseo, Il. the son of Donald and Alta (Johnson) Nimrick. He was reared and educated in Kewanee. Jack married Sharon Kay Moon on June 21, 1969 in Kewanee.
She survives along with three sons Jack Allen (Kim) Nimrick, Jeff (Jeri) Nimrick and Troy Crist all of Kewanee, a step son Tim (Tara) Riggs of Springfield, Il., four daughters Janie Brimhall , Jackie (Bill) Garms, Jean Ann “Boo” (Mike) Hall and Amy (Kevin) Newton all of Kewanee, 22 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, two brothers Donald (Brenda) Nimrick and Mike (Sherry) Nimrick both of Kewanee, three sisters Kathy (Donald) Crist of Kewanee, Donna and Brian and Bonnie Nyert of Davenport, Ia.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Larry, Ronnie, and Gary, a grandson Rick and a granddaughter Samantha.
Jack worked out of Labor Local #852 in Kewanee. Following retirement from the local he owned and operated J & L Construction in Kewanee and Kay’s Corner Antiques. He will be remembered as a # 1 Dad and Grandpa who enjoyed spending time with family, cooking and cookouts, fishing and yard work.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee, Il. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.
