Kenneth D. Purdy, 67, of Niles, Michigan and formerly of Kewanee, Il. went to heaven on July 2, 2012. Kenneth was born March 8, 1945 in Kewanee the son of Carroll and Edith (Gustafson) Purdy. He grew up in Kewanee. He is survived by his wife Billie (Jones) Purdy, of Niles, a brother William (Vicki) Purdy of Kewanee, two sisters Beverley Dahl of Walnut, Il. and Carolyn (Ron) Kern of Bloomington, Il., a son Michael (Jody) Purdy of Niles, a stepson Raymond, a stepdaughter Kathleen (Paul) Petersen all of Niles, Mi., four grandchildren Owen, Steven, Emma and Dustin and several nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Karen, two brothers Harold and Edward, a daughter Deana and a stepson Gary Brown.
Kenneth worked for an iron company in Niles, Mi.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and cooking for the VFW Post in Niles. Ken loved his family and is having a family reunion in heaven. He was a fun brother and will be greatly missed by his family.
Cremation was accorded and services and burial will be private for the family. The Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Hone is in charge of local arrangements.
