Jack D. Peach, 90, of Kewanee, Il. died at 9:55 P.M. Monday, August 13, 2012 at Kewanee Hospital. Jack was born July 29, 1922 in Kewanee the son of Albert and Helen (Surtees) Peach. He grew up in Kewanee and attended Kewanee school.
Jack married Roberta Kathryn Sparks on in November of 1945 in Chicago, Il. She preceded him in death on December 25, 2006. He was also preceded in death by three sons Jerry, Patrick and Dean Peach and a brother Donald Peach.
Surviving are three sons David (Karen) Peach, Henry Peach, and Jack Peach Jr. all of Kewanee and three daughters Jacqueline (Stanley) Hall of Galva, Il., Kathy (Walt) Kuykendall and June (Bryan) Huffman all of Kewanee, sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, one brother Dean (Helen) Peach of Kewanee, and two sisters Lois Pancer of Chicago, Ill. and June Girkin of Kewanee.
Jack worked construction and was skilled in concrete work. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in Europe primarily in Northern France and the Rhineland. Jack was a member of the Kewanee Assembly of God Church and the Flemish American Club.
He enjoyed antiques and was a regular at local auctions and sales. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing rolle bolle and cards and spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee where military honors will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the funeral home.
