Obituary for Doris M. Hepner

Doris M. Hepner, 91, of Kewanee, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society, Prophetstown, IL. Doris was born September 7, 1927 in Bath, IL, the daughter of Guy Waverly and Letha Grace (Powell) Salisbury. Doris married Harold Hepner on November 6, 1948, he preceded her in death in 1976.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Christy (Jim) Gosch, Cabool, MO, Glenda Andrews (Patrick McIntosh), St. George, UT; two grandsons, Justin (Becky) Gosch, Sheffield, IL, Kevin Andrews, Jr., Kissimmee, FL; two great grandsons, Johnathan and Thomas Gosch; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Marcia Dragolovich, Cathy Hainline, and Kathy Hefner. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Richard and Guy Salisbury.
Doris was self-employed, having worked for Dr. Terry, Creamer Funeral Home, St. Paul’s Church, and many private homes. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, Kewanee and the Kewanee Artists Club. She helped start the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church on Hepner Street in Kewanee. Baking was her passion. She enjoyed gardening and decorating for the different seasons. She was the most diligent shopper her children knew.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home for the Salvation Army, Kewanee. Please leave an online condolence for Doris’ family at www.schuenemantumblesonfuneralhome.com.
