Obituary for Eugene F. Reiff

Eugene F. Reiff, 93, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Kewanee Care Home. Eugene was born August 4, 1926 in Kewanee, the son of William Jr. and Lola (Piester) Reiff. He married Shirley M. Ahlgren on October 25, 1947 in Kewanee; she survives.
Eugene is also survived by two sons, Thomas (Theresa) Reiff, Bridgeview, IL, Steven “Whitey” (Carol) Reiff, Toulon; granddaughters, Brenda (Jim) Sullivan and Amy (Steve) O’Donnell; grandson, Scott (Rochelle) Reiff; step-grandson, Jerry Robb, Savannah, GA; great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Cameron, and Colin Sullivan, Madelyn and Adam Reiff, Ryan, Meagan and Jake O’Donnell. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eileen Gosch; and a brother, Wayne Reiff.
Eugene was a Navy Veteran of World War II and was stationed on a Patrol Craft as a Seaman First Class in the South Pacific area. He retired from Hyster, Co in 1988. He was a life member of the VFW Post #8078 and a life member of Henry County Historical Society. He enjoyed Nascar Racing and traveling with his wife.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, September 27, 2019 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Curry will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kewanee. Military Rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Henry County Senior Citizens Center or to the Henry County Humane Society.
