Glenda S. Fortman, 81, of Kewanee, died Monday, April 1, 2019 at OSF Richard Owens Hospice House, Peoria. Glenda was born February 21, 1938 in Kewanee, the daughter of Joseph and Doris (Schoonover) Pyle. She graduated from Kewanee High School. Glenda married Donald Fortman on October 3, 1959 in Kewanee, he survives.
Glenda is also survived by one daughter, Stephanie (Dennis) Parsons, Park Forest, IL; one son, Jeffrey (Michele) Fortman, DVM, Flossmoor, IL; four grandchildren, Zachary and Colin Parsons, and Claire and Olivia Fortman; and two sisters, Mary Jo (Gordon) Simonsen, Huntley, IL, Barbara (Tom) Rieder, Aurora, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son in infancy, Shawn; and one sister in infancy, Marion Pyle.
Glenda was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping, baking, reading, and gardening. You could also find Glenda doing cross-stitch and putting puzzles together.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Pastor Kevin Drane will officiate. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the funeral home.
