Obituary for Judith L. McNaught

Judith L. McNaught,76, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Methodist Unity Point Hospital, Peoria. Judith was born January 24, 1944 in Kewanee, the daughter of James Louis and Lona Mae (Jacobs) Cruse. Ms. Judy obtained her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development from Western Illinois University. Judith married Wesley I. McNaught on June 22, 1979 at the First Baptist Church, Kewanee; he preceded her in death on December 24, 2019.
Judith is survived by eight children, Jamie Ferris Burwell, Wesley McNaught, Jr., Julie (Jake) Marsh, Lisa McNaught, Gordon McNaught, Harvey McNaught, Jeff (Jenny) Ferris, Marilyn (Mike) Swearingen; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and two on the way; sisters, Gail (Kenny) Knowles, Terry (Spike) Young; brother, Greg (Lynette) Cruse; uncle Bob Burns; aunt, June Jacobs; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Jody Ferris; son, Jimmy Ferris; brother, Jackie Cruse; and brothers in infancy, Ronald and Donald Cruse.
Ms. Judy was a preschool teacher at the Kewanee Daycare. Prior to working at the daycare, she worked at Grant’s and Harper and Wyman. In her teen years she worked at Zarvell’s Bakery. After her retirement she still maintained a home daycare. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Judy loved children, making cakes, and spending time with her dogs. She was famous for her huge family Christmas parties. She enjoyed making plans to have everyone get together. She enjoyed camping with Wes during their younger years.
A graveside service and celebration of life service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Please leave an online condolence for Judith’s family at
