Obituary for Marvin Price

Marvin Price, 90, of Kewanee, died Thursday, May 30, 2019 surrounded by his family. Marvin was born January 5, 1929 in Kewanee, the son of John and Lelia Price.
Marvin is survived by one daughter, Patty (Jay) Poulos; one son, Ron (Marsha) Price; one daughter-in-law, Meryll Boyce; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Theresa, and Jim Russell, Danielle (Ryan) Hatfield, and Shannon (Donna) Price; and five great grandchildren, Ian Kelly, Kaden Swearingen Russell, Logan Hatfield, and Morgan and Mallory Price. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ed Price; and sister, Ella Braham.
Marvin served in the United States Army and was a Paratrooper during the Korean War. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. He was also in the National Guard for one year. He worked as a welder for Kewanee Machinery and Conveyor. In his younger years, he loved to go fishing. He also loved going to McDonald’s and Burger King after retirement. He enjoyed following the softball leagues, especially for the popcorn. He also enjoyed gardening and walking around the neighborhood. He especially loved playing checkers with his granddaughter, Jen.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council.
