Obituary for Ronald "Ron" Oldeen

Ronald “Ron” A. Oldeen, 58, of Kewanee, died Sunday, August 25, 2019 at his home. Ron was born June 14, 1961 in Kewanee, the son of Robert S. and Karen (Staphan) Oldeen. Ron married Kim Burnett on October 22, 1983 in Kewanee. Ron graduated from Kewanee Schools with the class of 1979.
Ron was survived by his wife, Kim, Kewanee; two children, Robert “Bob” (Kristi) Oldeen, Kewanee, Sarah Oldeen, Kewanee; three grandchildren, Hunter, Delaney, Sully; sister, Debbie (Rowdy) Meeker, Kewanee; many nieces and nephews; and their beloved dog, Zoey. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Ron was a lifelong roofer, he started working with his father in 1968. Ron owned Oldeen Roofing Company; a family ran business. Ron was a member of the Elks Club, the VFW and the Flemish American Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Ron continued with his father’s legacy of stocking the Windmont Park lake. Ron was known for his work ethic, his sense of humor, and his love for premium beer. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:00 am until the time of service on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Kewanee Park District.
