Obituary for Ronald "Ronnie" E. Ellis

Ronald “Ronnie” E. Ellis, 62, of Neponset, died Sunday, May 26, 2019 at OSF St. Luke’s Medical Center, Kewanee. Ronnie was born September 27, 1956, in Macon, GA, the son of Alton W. Sr. and Barbara (Vincent) Ellis. Ronnie married Elizabeth Dana in Macon, GA on September 12, 1997, she survives.
Also surviving is Ronnie’s mother, Barbara of Dexter, GA; one son, Kyle Ellis of Macon, GA; one granddaughter, Megan Ellis; two sisters, Shirley (Ronald) Warren, Dexter, GA, Teresa (Billy) Warren, Dexter, GA; two brothers, Alton “Pete” (Brenda) Ellis, Jr., Fayetteville, GA, Randy (Donis) Ellis, Hammond, LA; and a truck load of nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Ronnie was preceded in death by his dad; a daughter in infancy, Amanda Ellis; nephews, Britt and Brandon Warren; and niece, Abby Dana.
Ronnie was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Ronnie was a truck driver ending his career driving for the entertainment industry. He was a member of the 40 and 8. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and Hallmark movies. He played the guitar and was learning to play the fiddle and piano. He loved his animals and doing things for his Bethy. He especially loved his family, neighbors, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, Kewanee. Pastor Jon Vincent will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, Neponset, where Military Rites will be conducted by the Kewanee Veteran's Council. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the church. Memorials may be made to the Buda Rescue, Kewanee Humane Society, or the VA Mental Health.
